This was a Father's Day gift for my dad who is a contractor and also grew up around equipment like this. He LOVED it. Great photos, lots of info. It brought back some great memories for him of working on equipment with his father when he was younger. Gave this to my son in law for Christmas. He has loved heavy equipment his whole life and is certified to operate. He has wanted this book for awhile and we finally found it here. He had a great Christmas after getting this book, very informative!!

Bought this for my 3 year old son who LOVES tractors. While it is well above my son's level, the pictures are great (can you say pictures of tractors are beautiful???) and it is an interesting book for dad, too.

This book has been sitting on my kitchen table for nearly a week and has been leafed through, examined and discussed at length by a number of CAT aficionados - contractors, heavy equipment operators and diesel mechanics. They all raved about the detail and accuracy of the historical information and level of technical detail. It created an interesting conversation of "remember when."Well done (they are a tough bunch).

This is a fun coffee table book. Not exactly corporate propaganda, but a history and review of Caterpillar equipment. Anyone with a penchant for big machines will enjoy it.

Simply put, Mr. Raczon tells an excellent story about one of the most iconic brands in history. The book is a superb blend of no-kidding product information mixed with stories from Caterpillar's past — and the cherry on top is the outstanding photography. It paints a great picture of how far the company has come, and Raczon, a well-respected and seasoned construction industry veteran, provides brilliant insight throughout. This book is a must-read for any machinery enthusiast.

Bought this as a present for my father, a lover of all things Caterpillar and construction related. He was very happy with the book and I'm sure it will remain on the coffee table for many years to come.

I grabbed this book as a research tool, fully expecting it to be dry reading. Happy surprise! This is a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of the intimate daily lives of centuries-old England. I'd go so far as to see it's a must-read for anyone researching the period and wanting to gain crucial facts for writing about it. The author covers architectural styles, building materials, interior decorating, and room-by-room discussions of urban and country homes.

This is a tiny book, an easy read, and includes pictures and descriptions. It's great for those studying the period who want to know how the richer folks lived during the period. It doesn't cover Regency hovels, which might be something to add in a new edition. I really liked the floor plans differentiating stand alone houses and terrace houses. I'd love to see this in more detail. It would also be nice to include a section just on London Squares, with more info on the central parks within the squares. Great starter book for history or architecture buffs.

building and construction practices, floor plans, trimming and facade, furnishing a room. its all here. but in the brief. Nothing too deep. still an excellent resource book for setting a stage or dressing a scene.

This is a wonderful book! We have purchased a Georgian house that needs to be restored. This book has given me so much information about what is appropriate, why the houses are designed as they are, the historical context in which the designs evolved, and so much more. I appreciate it as a guide to design, but as a history buff, I appreciate it purely as a history book. Very easy to read with good definition of terms and diagrams that make the text truly make sense (a picture is worth a thousand words!)

This is a wonderfully produced book. Simple to read and understand, without feeling like it was written for children. I think it was produced somehow through the British National Trust, its black & white photos do not quite to it justice, but 2-D floors plans bring a better perspective to the book, making it a great reference in your library.

Great book

This is architectural in nature and doesn't really detail what's in the rooms, but it does a great job of covering styles, materials, conventions, and regulations during this time period.

This is a really fascinating little book that I am delighted to have. It's a real look into the Period that shines light on the places these people lived. Architecturally interesting.
