I've been buying the Italy page-a-day calendars for several years. In the past, the calendar was smaller and the pages were glued together at the top. Very much the standard page-a-day desk format. This year they significantly enlarged the pages and presented it in an acrylic stand. I'm not a huge fan of this as it takes up a lot of space on my work desk. The pages are double sided (ie Monday, Jan 8th on one side and Tuesday, December 25th on the other side). Since I use the calendar pages for SoulCollage©, the double-sided pages means having to choose between the two images. Also, having to remember to flip the pages...kind of annoying. The previous format had a small map of Italy that would indicate the location of where the photo was taken. This was a fun feature. The photos are amazing and beautiful, which is the main reason why I love this calendar. I'm just not a huge fan of the new format. Not sure I'll purchase next year if it this is format is going to be the standard.

I used to love the Workman Publishing Page-A-Day desktop box calendars; especially of Italy. They had great photography, and an informative little map of Italy to show you what area the photo came from. It was great to look at and educational. Now, probably because that was too difficult to produce and maintain ... they have gone to a new format. The photography is still nice, but the little educational bonuses are gone, and quite frankly this big plastic desktop contraption holds loose leaf pages that you flip around after the midway point of the year. Each day is a special little hassle of removing the front image and placing it in the back without blunting the corners or the satisfaction of reducing the page count throughout the year. What used to be a small, tidy little desktop calendar is now an oversized plastic hassle on your desktop. Too big, too clunky and no charm. Sorry ... I won't keep ordering these or giving them as gifts anymore.

This daily gallery calendar has exquisite pictures. It's the next best thing to being there. The pages are of exellent quality and I use them to make homemade gretting cards. All of the Workman Publishing Page-a-Day Gallery calendars are beautiful. I have never bee dissappointed. Please note, the Gallery calendars are substantially larger 6x7" and more vibrant than the regular page a day. The handy plastic stand makes it easy to display on desk or counter. It's also a great conversation peice. My step-daughter and I get the same one each year so we can compare notes.

It's an OK calendar. They took away the map showing where the picture is from. Also the pages are two-sided so you have to save and ''re-use" every page. The pictures are bigger but the supporting information is less. The plastic frame is fragile. It arrived broken but was still functional. I would have preferred the old format that worked so well.

The photographs are lovely and highlight Italy beautifully.

The pages are bigger than I expected and the quality of the pictures is amazing! Once you're half way through the year, you flipped it over and keep going so there is no waste (dates/pics printing on both sides). We are putting little check marks on the corner on the places we want to visit. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Will get another country for a friend.

Like the photos and all, BUT it this is simply not the "tear off and toss" day calendar. With this day calendar, the pages are double sided are used for days later on in the year. This was a bit confusing for me at first. Not used to such.

I can't wait to start using it in 2018. Beautiful photos. I have had Page-A-Day calendars in the past. Loved them all

I rarely review but need to this time. Dr Drew Ramsey is a genius! His book is full of invaluable information that is absolutely different from any health/diet book I've read! (I've read most of them) He has described in detail why we need to eat certain foods to feed our brain the essential nutrients it needs to keep us healthy. He tells secrets that will help stave off Alzheimers, protect from the negative effects of aging and in the process lose weight! I am lucky to already have tested some of the recipes. My favorites are the Quinoa-Mushroom Frittata, Cashew-Chocolate Smoothie, Crispy Shrimp with Greens and Beans and Rainbow Burgers with Golden Sweet Potato Fries! The recipes are delicious and certainly nutritious! I feel healthy. I Eat Complete! I highly recommend this book!

I have had clinical, difficult-to-treat depression most of my life. Since I received this book and The Happiness Diet by the same author, I've been eating plenty of mood foods every day. I have to say it works. My quality of life has improved so much that I feel like myself again: active, engaged in my life and happier. I stopped following the recommendations as much while on vacation and I noticed a definite change for the worse. I think it's important to Est these foods every day, every meal.There are 're are so many choices, it's easy. The reason I have given this only 4 stars is that the recipes don't include enough of the recommended foods. I use my own recipes.I follow the focus food recommendations, though not as strictly, and my focus has imprinted as well

I bought the book b/c of a strong newspaper review. I thought that there would be alot of science-based, evidence-driven information. Not the case! It's just a cookbook. And its bibliography lists dated articles and other published information that were not as substantial as I hoped to read. But the recipes are good!

This is an excellent book that makes me feel good about eating better. Dr. Ramsey does a good job describing what food is important for brain health, explains why it is good for you, and then supplies recipes to back it up. The recipes are delicious too!This book is good for anybody who is interested in eating better and getting the most out of the food that you eat.

Excellent. Common sense, intelligent advice on eating to nourish our bodies and our brains. The recipes are accessible and simple to make with (mostly) everyday ingredients, many easily prepared in less than 30 minutes. Thank you to Dr. Ramsey for his work on the subject of the gut-brain connection.

I love the charts that are included, with nutritional information, and which foods contain the needed nutrients. The recipes are great, too. I bought 3 more copies for each of my 3 sisters.

I have been purchasing this "Every Day's a Holiday" calendar each year for several years now, for myself as well as to use as gifts for others. We love to celebrate the fun, random holidays when we are able, such as timing our holiday gingerbread house-making party so that it falls on "Gingerbread House Day," making pumpkin pie on "Pumpkin Pie Day," or perhaps barbecuing kebabs on "National Something on a Stick Day." We have had a lot of fun with this calendar over the years. I keep it right by my work desk so I am sure to notice any upcoming days that sound especially fun to celebrate.This calendar comes wrapped up safely in plastic and with a hard cardboard inside to keep the calendar flat and pretty during shipping. I love the size, which is 12 x 12, as it fits perfectly next to my desk. The day boxes on the calendar are nice and large for writing appointments, birthdays, or whatever you wish. I love that the pages are not glossy, but matte, making it easy to write on. I have attached a few pictures just to give you an idea of some of the fun and crazy holidays covered.I love this fun calendar and so have each of the people I have gifted it to over the years. I am hoping this will continue to be available. I will continue to purchase. Great calendar!!

I had a calendar much like this in my classroom last year, and my students loved it. I couldn't find one by the same publisher, so I tried this one. I am pleased with the larger graphics. They are cheerful and inviting. If I were creating this myself specifically for a classroom, the only change I would make is that I would try to include alternatives to the days that celebrate alcoholic beverages. However, I just research and find other things for my kids to celebrate that day.

This calander is a JOKE! It doesn’t match with actual “national” days. For example, today is Feb 9th. National Pizza Day. Calander says it’s national toothache day. Maybe they are being funny but I think it’s stupid.

I LOVE THIS!! Every year I get my co worker a fun calendar so that when I walk into her office, it is a nice calendar that isn't just one that she got from her car repair man. I WISH I GOT THIS FOR MYSELF!! We have celebrated so many random holidays at the office that folks are asking "whats next" ?? We mainly celebrate the food-type holidays and it is awesome. If you want a nice fun calendar with simple graphics and fun holidays, i recommend this!!

Adorable calendar, great idea!! I love this thing and have tried to celebrate as many of these holidays as I could. Just this past Saturday I used "national chocolate cake" day as an excuse to buy a chocolate cake! Cute purchase!

Super fun calendar. I've been using it most the year and it's a great addition to my desk. I'm the social media manager for my office, so it comes in handy to pop up goofy "Today is.." posts to fill in some areas we need interaction. Great stuff!

I bought this so my friends at work could have "National Whatever Days" at the office but none of the holidays are even right and if they are right, most are on the wrong day of the month! I know it's a just-for-fun-and-grins calendar but it was a waste of money for us. My co-workers and I just Google the holidays now. :-(

Ordered for my daughter for Christmas for the second year! She loves to come down to breakfast and announce what 'day' it is - at 8, everything is an adventure!

I bought this book for my four-year-old daughter who is going through a Mermaid phase. She loves this book and all the stickers that go with it. We enjoy the Pinkalicious series and are pleased with this book.

Not impressive

This "book" just consists of a few pages of content. It is simply regurgitating simplistic information about breakouts that you can find elsewhere on the web. None of it is useful or helpful for developing a "simple, proven" strategy.Also, beware of the many fake four- and five-star reviews for this book. If you click on each reviewer's name, note how each one is giving glowing reviews for the same set of books as the others. Fake, fake, fake.

Basic strategy for starting obviously you need to read more books. It is a pitty that the author did not add more graphics with the strategy completed.

First, it look 6 minutes to read. Second, this was extremely basic info that you can find on google. Glad I have Kindle Unlimited, if you’re purchasing, don’t waste your time. As a kicker, the “free downloads” lead to a dead link lol.

Although unpredictable trades can be daunting, this book still excites me. When you do not like to waste a lot of time and just want the information, the facts, the ins and outs about proven and failed success/techniques in regards to a pattern, a method, etc, go to someone who already knows. Therefore, this eBook, by those who have already experienced, studied, invested and researched a particular strategy and want to break it down, sounds like a plan. You take simple proven strategies and you identify the proper set of classifications and recommendations for profits and you implement them and then you are successful, it is a win win. Many different types of trades needs to be understood and implemented in order to be successful in even one strategy. Breakout Trading sounds simple enough, but the majority of breakouts are false alarms. You still need to have the basic understanding of other types of trading including (but not limited to) MACD, RSI, reverse breakouts, Bollinger Bands, moving averages and ATR. Therefore, just because you have this little book alone, don't mean that you can go out and spend thousands on your next trade if you don't have the understanding and concepts of other strategies. Other situations plays a major role as well, keeping up with changes in fundamental News, economic or global events and any other changes that could be driving trader sentiments. This lets me know even more, that unpredictable trading is not for me right now, but great to have in my pocket for the future.

About the Author

Tania Romanov Amochaev was born in Belgrade, Serbia of two displaced émigrés―a White Russian father and a Croatian mother―and spent her childhood in San Sabba, a refugee camp in Trieste. After arriving in America on the SS Constitution, Tania attended San Francisco’s public schools. She earned a degree in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970, graduating while the school was on strike in protest of the U.S. invasion of Cambodia. She then forged a successful business career in technology and was serving on the board of advisors to her College when the formal graduation was finally held. Tania has been the CEO of three technology companies and took the final one to a successful turnaround and IPO. She also earned an MS in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and received an honorary PhD from Saint Catherine University. Tania is a founder of the Healdsburg Literary Guild and the educational non-profit Public School Success Team, which mobilizes community volunteers to reduce public high school dropout rates. An award winning photographer, her work helped fund her nonprofit efforts. She has climbed Mount Whitney and Mount Kenya, circumnavigated Annapurna, trekked through Bhutan and Kashmir, and sailed along remote rivers in Burma. In 2013 she landed in Nairobi the day of the terrorist attack and proceeded on a walk across that country from beneath Kilimanjaro to the Indian Ocean. Tania watched, from afar, the disintegration of the country where her life story began. Those bitter Yugoslav wars of the 1990s put her mother Zora's sisters onto opposing sides of a battle, and not for the first time. Fluent in the languages of her parents, she visits her homelands to study her past. Tania is the author of tales of travel to lands as diverse as Russia, India, Japan and Morocco. The essay on her visit to her father's home village in the deep heart of Russia during repressive Communist times was published in Best Travel Writing, Volume 10. If it were nothing else, Mother Tongue would be a poignant, dramatic memoir with an interesting language twist. But in an age when we're seeing vast populations of innocent people uprooted from their ancestral homelands by numerous political and economic imbroglios that have little to do with ordinary people, it is an incredibly timely and important book. The major takeaway for me was that anyone, ANYONE, can instantly become a refugee when inept and/or self-serving political leaders disregard the immense human capital at stake with each decision they make. Romanov describes a loving, hardworking family that has their country disappear beneath their feet and the family ripped apart...repeatedly. Despite the upheaval, the loss of loved ones, the desperation of refugee camps and struggles attempting to fit into a foreign land, love and determination prevail...for the most part. Every battle has collateral damages and Romanov's battles are no different. For me, the difficult relationship that develops over time between Romanov and her mother is the most touching and the way in which that affection, frustration, and admiration fuse makes for a very engaging story.

Tania Romanov transports the reader to the war-torn places in the Balkans where she was born and then lived as a refugee with her family. Mother Tongue is a beautiful tribute to her mother as Tania and her husband return with Zora to her homeland on the Istrian Peninsula (Croatia) to the small village of Medulin where they search for relatives she has not seen in decades. It is a courageous journey of faith and hope. Zora is reunited with loved ones in her first homeland, but she ultimately realizes that her true homeland is America. The book is a portrait of the valiant spirit of the emigrants who left their homes and persevered as they made their way to new lands to escape the oppression and the oppressors of both World Wars. It's a must read for anyone who wants a better understanding of the refugee crisis and the immigration experience as they were and as they still exist in today's world.

I very much enjoyed reading “Mother Tongue”, a well-researched, masterfully written and deeply personal story. Migrations are as old as human societies, however the massive political and economic migrations of the last 150 years are unprecedented as well as the “melting pot” nations they produced (US, Argentina and other). Tania Romanov shares with us the saga of her diverse family in search for a safe place to call home. I found it while researching my own Slavic roots and this beautiful book enlightened me on the Serbo-Croatian conflict. As all ethnic conflicts it is the product of the manipulation of two peoples that were well used to coexist and thrive side by side. Unfortunately once the genie is out the bottle it threatens the group very existence. Nobody wins.Every immigrant and child of immigrants will find pieces of his/her own story in this wonderful book; highly recommended!

This book fascinated me on many levels. I was astonished at how little I knew about the history of the Balkans & was amazed at the amount of historical information I learned in reading it. It also gave me such a deeper understanding of refugees & how unbelievably disrupted their lives become in the midst of political turmoil & in many cases violence. The in depth personal level of Tania's story kept me so engaged & eager to turn the next page. What amazing ancestors Tania & her brother Sasha were "spun" from. Such brave & persistent parents informed their upbringing & incredible early childhood experiences that certainly informed such broad "thinking & reaching". America is so enriched by individuals that come with such diverse experiences, often hardships, that they turn into strengths & assets! The history of Tania Ramanov's family is both fascinating & inspiring. I highly recommend it, especially to book clubs as it is so rich with material to discuss.
