Very useful for purposes of modeling. I'm in the process of building a 1/350 scale model of the Indy and found plenty of details that might otherwise have been missed.Equally split between the USS Portland and USS Indianapolis which, I believe, are the only two vessels in the Portland class of heavy cruisers.Photos are all black and white (as expected) and their quality is better than I would have imagined.
A gift to a ship lover. the recipient was happy to find so many photos in his book , THE BOOK WAS VEERY DESCRIPTIVE OF this ships fate. we would recommend it to family and friends.

My father served on the USS Portland in WW II. I wanted to see the ship, and understand his war. It met all my expectations.
