I'm a board-certified Internal Medicine M.D. with a large patient practice in Los Angeles. I downloaded the Kindle edition of financial guru Jean Chatzky's and wellness expert Dr. Michael Roizen's new book "Age-Proof" last evening. It was so chock-full of sage advice that I stayed up into the wee hours reading it all the way through.After 25+ years of medical practice I'm rather skeptical of and not easily impressed by the litany of books offering what I consider to be "fad" advice for healthy living. Most are either inaccurate, hyperbolic, based on junk-science or just plain boring. "Age-Proof", in my professional opinion, is a singular exception. My initial (inarticulate) gut reactions as I read Jean and Dr. Mike's expert health and wealth advice were "Wow." "Terrific." "Finally." "It's about time."In a nutshell, "Age-Proof" offers clear, simple, actionable, scientifically legitimate advice about staying healthy and financially solvent as the decades pile up. And the key messages are delivered in a caring, funny and non-threatening format for the oft-scary interconnected topics of health and wealth. As a doc striving daily to impart both healthy living and practical life advice to my aging patient population (i.e. anyone over 40), "Age-Proof" will very likely become a must-read recommendation for my patients.Thanks so much to Jean and Dr. Mike for sharing your wisdom and mentoring with the world.

Not too bad overall. However, if you want to do better, I'd go with "Younger Next Year (& turn back your biological clock)", By Cris Crowley & Henry Lodge MD for the health and longevity part.. (You won't be willing to do all the stuff listed in either book - neither am I - but this book is still more readable and I think a bit better plan. For the financial side of the equation, go instead to the most recent update of Andrew Tobias' "The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need".

There's lots of good advice in this book. Some or much of the financial and health recommendations you're probably already doing or want to do.After reading through this book, I think it may become a reference guide for me over the next several years. On the other hand, much of the advice would probably be better accessing through a website, an online course, and some personal coaching.There's so much that we need to be doing to improve our financial and health conditions, but there's only so much time in the day. This book can be helpful, but really it's only a guide.By the way, when they talk about budgeting your money, don't try using the old pen and paper method. Simply use the service, YouNeedABudget.com. It's very affordable, and I guarantee that if you're not living beyond your means, then YNAB will help you solve your budgeting problems.

This is an excellent resource on how to save...for retirement, as well as how to live well now so one can save for retirement as well as being healthy through out life. The title is spot on..."Age Proof: Living Longer w/o running out of money or breaking a hip." For those who aren't aware when one breaks a hip in their advanced years, if they have not taken care of themselves through out their lives, then healing is almost non-existent.

The money stuff I have covered (but I am guessing most people don't). It's the health stuff I struggle with as I get older. This book has helped me create new habits that have me becoming healthier. (Lost 8 pounds since I bought the book. I can jog two miles now without worrying about a heart attack. That kind of stuff.)Great book. Well written.

Good book on retirement. I am a financial planner and like to give it to clients as they retire.

I like the book and the inforamation it contains. However, it is a struggle to remain interested and finish reading the whole book.

A very easy read with a look at age old concerns for the aging process. From health ,wealth , nutrition and exercise to advise on living in an ageless fashion. Just plain old fun!
